The story of Table 26
The beginning – Table 26 at West End
Dad and I opened West End Park Cafe on Montague Road in 2003. It was a joint vision of myself and dad to open another locale – one that celebrated eating, drinking and loving life. After his passing in 2009, I was committed to actualising dad’s philosophy and making good on this vision. Table 26 West End is a vibrant corner cafe popular with our locals, serves Campos coffee and a variety of breakfast and lunch options with a scrumptious twist. Another reason why its a favourite spot among local residents is that we are pet friendly so if you come visit us, especially on weekends, you will see our furry friends, including dogs, cats and some more unique pets.
Patrons can take a seat at any table (except for table 26, which is permanently reserved for dad as a tribute) and leisurely browse the extensive menu that caters for a variety of tastes and dietary requirements.
My dad’s favourite breakfast is featured on the menu – Pop’s Paratha (grilled flat bread filled with spicy scrambled eggs), and shares menu space with the likes of banana French toast, eggs benedict sliders, sand crab omelettes and vege fritters. Our lunch menu is also bursting with healthy goodness with a selection of T26 bowls. Vegan and gluten free diners will salivate over the Feel Good and Wok this Way bowls, while the meat lovers will be jumping the queue for the crispy karaage chicken Rising Sun, and the 24/hr pulled chipotle beef brisket Tex Mex bowl. The Pizzageddon range will please any pizza lover, while our other mains are all perfectly plated to incorporate pasta, fish, pork and steak.
Table 26 at Carindale
The impeccable service and much-loved signature dishes from Table 26 West End are also available at our new Table 26 venue at Westfield Carindale! Located on level two of the shopping centre at kiosk 201, Table 26 Carindale has been thoughtfully designed and offers guests a variety of spaces to relax and unwind. A central kiosk style kitchen separates Table 26 Carindale into two distinct sections with one side dedicated to workers, special occasions and hungry shoppers. The other side offers parents or carers and their bubs, an inviting space to take a well-earned break! Having two children aged two and five years, my wife Sneha’s vision was to create a unique space, where the little ones can play safely, in a fully enclosed infant’s area. This special family space allows parents and carers to have a break, enjoy a delicious meal and coffee while keeping an eye on their children. We also offer the convenience of a table ordering service as an option.
Table 26 Indooroopilly
Table 26 Indooroopilly was launched in 2021 after speaking to many Westside mums who felt that there is a genuine need for a place where they can unwind with a coffee in hand, or a quality meal, while being able to let their little ones play in a safe and gated kids play area. Located on Level 2 at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre (across from Country Road and Uniqlo), the design for the Table 26 Indooroopilly was completed by NV Design Agency.
The design was inspired by a timeless palette that incorporates subtle textures, soft blues and greens, accent copper and features lime washed battens which evokes a sense of serenity that lies in contrast to the location in a busy shopping centre. The layout utilises an open concept dining area which embraces the natural light filled space with an abundance of lush greenery to complement its surroundings.
The outdoor dining area will feature comfortable and flexible seating options surrounding the play area with a range of interactive toys including building blocks, a play kitchen, 2 interactive screens with games, climb on car, play wall and more. The indoor dining area will offer a quieter and light filled atmosphere for shoppers or workers who want to relax and escape their hectic schedules. Both dining areas have table service, so you don’t have to queue for your order.
Our name comes from our wish to honour my father’s legacy by permanently reserving table 26 for him. By seeing this table ready for him every day, we will always be reminded of him and strive to live up to his commitment to his customers, providing the greatest service accompanied by simple great food.

Our Aim
Table 26 West End was created in 2017 out of a passion for amazing food and service. We believe that using the freshest ingredients produces the best results. Our aim is to connect the neighbourhood to a dining experience in the same way ingredients are connected to food.
We want to serve remarkable dishes and beverages to match our world-class location, to consistently provide our customers with impeccable service by demonstrating warmth, graciousness, efficiency, knowledge, professionalism and integrity to our work. To have every customer who comes through our door greeted or acknowledged, and thanked at least once for allowing us to serve, and to leave with lasting memories. My dad would expect no less.

Quick Snapshot of me
I grew up in Sydney but dad fell in love with Brisbane after visiting Expo 88. It was after this event he made the decision to move the family here. Since moving in 1989, my parents, two sisters and I have not looked back once. After graduating from UQ and working for a bank, I wanted to start my career in hospitality as that is where my true passion lies. Dad and I bought West End Park Café in 2003, which is where I developed knowledge about the hospitality industry and local area, West End. My mum also helped the chef incorporate some of our family recipes into the menu.
I got married five years later and now have two beautiful boys. I want to teach them to work hard, never take anything for granted, be humble, kind and good to the world. I love soccer, cricket, travelling, working out when I can, eating and spending time with my family and mates especially over a couple of wines or a good scotch.
If you want to get in contact with me for any reason at all, please don’t hesitate to email me – amit@table26.com.au.
Would love to hear from you!
Thanks, Amit.
